Market:
Mining
Location:
Malawi
Project Objective:
Provide sufficient groundwater required for operations
Project Execution Strategy:
- Review available geological, hydrogeological, topographical and existing groundwater information to guide the investigation.
- Conduct geophysical surveys to identify potential groundwater-bearing formations, geological structures, fractures and weathered zones.
- Interpret geophysical results and site conditions to identify and prioritise suitable borehole drilling locations.
- Provide recommendations on proposed borehole positions, target depths and preliminary drilling specifications.
- Supervise drilling activities, including monitoring drilling progress, geological formations, water strikes and borehole construction.
- Provide technical guidance on drilling depth, borehole completion and potential groundwater development.
- Compile a technical report documenting the methodology, findings, recommended borehole locations, drilling observations and recommendations for further groundwater investigation.
Project Key Achievements:
Effective geophysical surveys resulting in high water strike rates at the site. This provided the client with sufficient water availability required for operations
